From starting a career as Ajay Devgan's leading lady in the forgettable Platform, to making her mark in theatre in plays like Mahatma v/s Gandhi, Salesman Ramlal and Inshah Allah before shifting to the small screen with Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Tisca came a full circle with her reappearance on the big screen with Hyderabad Blues II,Loknayak Jay Prakash Narayan and Karma.

Fresh from the success of TZP, the svelte actress says she has lots of expectations from the Indian film industry and that she wants to try her hand at various genres of filmmaking. I want more of it. I look forward to playing a lot of roles, the more complex the better because they are more challenging and fun. I want to act in comedies, action and period films, she enumerates her wishes.
Ask her if she is content with the success of TZP and she surprises, I won't say I am content because it leads to complacency; but yes I am overjoyed and happy as much as I can be. Considering the reviews her performance has received, how much did she have to prepare for Maya Awasthi? Honestly speaking, as an actor I am always preparing myself for acting. But here, I involved myself in many workshops and readings with the entire cast of TZP, and that's it.
Was there any apprehension about going unnoticed in the flick? I had no such thoughts, comes the honest answer, as she goes on, And while doing any work I never think of anything besides doing the job to the best of my ability. Impressive!
Quiz her if she has a favourite role and she categorically states: I would love to play Indira Gandhi, Sarojini Naidu or a woman from the Taliban regime if someone makes a film on them.

But her heart's into international offers: I want to work in international projects because I feel it's not wise to be a big fish in a small pond. One has to venture out of his or her country to be successful. Not lacking in confidence, our girl?
The bewitching beauty is all set to appear in Nandita Das directorial debut In Such Times, and undoubtedly this one is only going to add one more feather to her cap.
On the personal front, the Scorpion is married for almost a decade, and dismisses the notion that the life as an actress dies after marriage.
Those who say that are making lame excuses. If you are good at your work and love what you are doing, if you are a nice human being and people want you around, you will be there even after your marriage, she emphasises. And in an interesting revelation, the ravishing beauty tells that she is leading the Buddhist way of life. It all started about 10 years ago. I had few personal issues and I wasn't getting answers from anywhere. A family friend spoke to me about Buddhism. Initially, I started reading about it. I found comfort and what I needed. And now Buddhism is my life.
Good Going, Tisca!
